We board our 31 seat shuttle headed north to Geyserville.
The big motor coach was more than we needed, and the smaller bus will
not pose any issues with getting in and out of some of the smaller
wineries. |

Our first stop is at J Pedroncelli Winery. Ed was
disappointed that he will be out of town for our visit. Jim
Pedroncelli, owner and California wine pioneer will host our Wooters for
a private tasting and vineyard walk. With a little cajoling Jim could
share some of his childhood memories (like scraping tartar crystals from
the inside of the redwood tanks for the war effort; or taking his
daughters on wine delivery runs to San Francisco). Drink in the sweeping
vista from the top of the Mother Clone vineyard, inhale the richness of
winemaking history and taste the joy of life in paradise. And while you
are at it, how about a sip of a Cabernet that is older than most of the
wineries in California! |

Next we head down Dry Creek Road to Healdsburg to the
Dry Creek Vineyard.
John Marchesini says "We will welcome wooters to Dry Creek Vineyard with a splash of our '06 Chenin Blanc.
After settling in comfortably we will then move on to our signature "great white", the 06 Fume Blanc and a short walk to our entry area for a historical look at the past and present of Dry Creek Vineyard.
Next to our cellar to taste the following: Barrel sample of the '06 Mariner; followed by four of our current releases: the '05 Old Vine Zinfandel, '05 Somers Ranch Zinfandel, 04 Mariner & the '03 Endeavour.

Time for lunch. A short ride into Healdsburg
itself brings us to Seghesio Family Vineyards - founded in 1895.
Ed and Donna Seghesio will be joining us for three course luncheon in
the Redwood Room following our Wine Reception on the Terrace featuring a
light Pinot Grigio and three of Seghesio's signature Zinfandels.
Looks like a great opportunity for some family stories. |

We leave town and travel into the foothills to Armida
Winery. Owners Steve and Bruce Cousins and/or Winemaker Jessica
Boone are looking forward to welcoming the WineWoot group with a brief
tour of our small, artisan winery, a barrel tasting, and a comprehensive
tasting of our wines including our most sought after single vineyard and
reserve wines. We will also be offering them our wine club discount on
all purchases they make during their visit. It they have time we
challenge them to a Bocce Ball match! |

From Armida, we take a scenic drive over to Sebastapol
for a private reception at Iron Horse Vineyards. Though it seemed
like we just ate lunch, we will complement our evening wines with a
lighter appetizer fare for dinner. Joy describes After Hours at
Iron Horse as a food & wine pairing, featuring our delicious wines,
stunning view and top quality local ingredients in small bites - gourmet
elegance without pretence. |
